Miras Shaltayev
I am an engineer who builds backend systems in Go and works with machine learning. I like the place where both meet: reliable services that run models, and models that need a good backend.
Backend. Since March 2025 I have worked at Kwaaka, a restaurant-tech platform. I built kiosk ordering for 60+ restaurants, QR menu payments with Halyk ePay, fiscal receipts through Webkassa, a billing service, and the backend of a food-ordering mini app inside the Onay app.
ML and AI. At the PCMC laboratory at Nazarbayev University, I wrote experiment code and fine-tuned transformer and LLM-based models (LoRA) for wind speed forecasting. I am a co-author of research papers, including one accepted at Advanced Engineering Informatics. At Kwaaka I now work on AI and LLM integration.
I am currently a first-year master's student at KBTU in Almaty.
Projects
- cv-builder.iomiras.com: A resume builder. Each section and line is a reusable block, so you can make a tailored CV for each job in minutes.
- github.com/iomiras/sponsor-skipper: A browser extension that skips sponsored segments in YouTube videos. It uses Jev to classify them.
